I’m obsessed with…THIS PIRATE BEDROOM!

<——– Take a minute and *like* my page on Facebook! Thanks! :)

I think we can all agree this is the COOLEST. BEDROOM. EVER. It was designed for a 6-year old who was able to choose between a castle, racecar, pirate ship, or space ship. I have to admit I probably would’ve gone for a castle design, but this is still insanely awesome.

The home features a huge hidden slide that runs the height of the home’s staircase, and plops you into the coolest pirate bedroom ever featuring a pirate ship that floats above the bedroom, and a jail.  Pretty sweet, right? Right.

In other news….. I’d like to throw a hail mary out there to the parents of this kid. WILL YOU ADOPT ME?

Here is the home’s mudroom. If you open up on of the lockers it reveals a hidden room with a slide entrance! If you go down it…

TA DAAAA! You have landed in the coolest bedroom ever.

This is the view of walking into the bedroom. The jail is on the right, as well as the ladder up to the drawbridge.

The rope bridge is connected to the top of the jail cell, built to accommodate evil doers, thieves and little sisters.

I love the detailing on the bottom of the bathroom floor. Hidden treasure! The room on the right is the closet. Sure, you can access it by walking in… but there’s also another way to access it!

Ta daaaaa!

Pretty cool, right? I think it’s great these people allow their kid to have such a cool experience. I wish I was that rich.

If you liked this bedroom, you might like my post about an amazing pirate home theater! Please check it out and stumble it at the bottom!

        Kid = 2-12
        Teenager = 13-19
        Adult = 18+
        Therefore, she isn’t a kid. She’s a teenager.

          child = 2-12
          Teenager = 13-19
          Adult = 19+
          Kid = 0-100
          get it right…

          Actually a “young adult is someone who is an ADULT but young.. She would have to be 18-20 to be a young adult.. If you are still in grade school, if you can’t have a job working 40+ hours, if you can’t vote, if you can’t buy alcohol or cigarettes then you are still a kid. You “feeling” like an young adult is different. You are a teenager. Accept it.

    That’s a pretty mature looking book selection for a 6 year old’s room. And adult clothes hanging in the closet. I think the people built it for themselves. I know I would.

    The slide thing and the pirate room are two completely separate things. The slide is just a concept. The pirate room is something that actually was built. They are 100% separate things.

    April 6, 2011 at 7:39 PM

    • Hey Tanner, thanks for the comment. The slide and pirate room are separate, you’re right. But it wasn’t just a concept, it was built. The slide runs the length of the staircase and comes out by the bedroom door. You can see photos of it in the post.

It’s a cool bedroom and they just wanted to share it…as a matter of fact, I just read a post below that said this was a room that someone received from the show extreme makeover because they remembered seeing it….so they were in need and someone did something nice for them….NOW can you be happy for them???

      If you’re so concerned with ridding the world of materialism, why don’t you get off your ass, sell your computer, and go feed some hungry kids? People like to act all concerned and shit on the internet, but they ain’t real.

    I think we’re passing by the real issue that has been presented here, the relativity of age (as well as how it structures so, so much of our current, high-speed societies…..). Because when you’re dead and gone and a thousand more generations after have come and gone as well, what is age except for a measurement of times you circled the sun. After all, we are the kings of the sun. We grow up to expect something is to come from every “age”, notions like when you should be married, the appropriate age to procreate (makin’ babies!), and when we’re supposed to lose our virginity; things like when we should enter college, how long we should spend there, and when you should “have a career”. There are so many variations. This is why we sit in traffic on what would be beautiful days, to work a job we hate which supports a less then ideal life…….. Why we sit up at night distracting our minds from the fact we can’t see the mountains, or the ocean. It’s easy.

    • I had a rather hard time choosing just one type of physician I would want to work for. So many of them fascinate me, and with me not really going into any medical field other than support, I never gave this any thought in the past. After reading the list, I am more favorable of working for a neonatologist. It is difficult to think about how neonatologist physicians sometimes have the most difficult job in the world, but I can only imagine how amazing it would be to be a part of saving a baby’s life. I had a coworker once whose baby was born at 36 weeks, and her baby had a lot of heart and lung problems. There were concerns about whether or not they would ever fully develop once she had him, but after many months in the NICU, and many scares that happened during it, the doctors were able to save him and he is now a very healthy 5 year old. It is because of that I have a higher interest in the neonatologist field.I hate to say which type of physician I would care less to work for, and it is because I worry that many will take it the wrong way. When I was 16, I used to help my mom at an assisted living home as a caregiver. We would get to work at 7:00 A.M. every morning to prepare breakfast for four of the elderly men and women that we were caring for. We would then make sure that all bedding was changed, rooms were cleaned, meals were prepared, and appointments were handled. We worked 12 hour days, and they were always grueling. The owner of the home made sure that everyone had their medicine and made it to their doctor appointments on time. However, she was more worried about getting paid for her services than actually helping the elderly. She would yell at them if they did something wrong, and even call them terrible names. My mom reported her and we both quit our job, but it has always left a sting in my heart since then. It is because of my experience with that situation that I do not think I could ever work for a gerontologist. I know that the situations would be much different, but ever since my experience with caring for elderly individuals it is very hard for me to think about assisting a physician in geriatrics because I worry that someone else might treat the elderly in the same way the owner of the home did. I am a firm believer that the elderly deserve the ultimate care and comfort when going through any treatment and aging in general, but I do not think I could ever work in that environment again.

    Um, anybody notice the clothes in the closet? They’re adult clothes. And, the books on the bookshelf? Those are no kids books. Methinks somebody is channeling their inner Peter Pan.

    awesome room but i noticed the adult clothes and books as well but i also noticed that there are no toys….hmmm…and I dont know any 6 year old that would be comfortable with a bedroom all the way downstairs away from mom and dad. my daughter is 5 and she would freak the hell out down there.just saying.

    What happens if the kid decides he doesn’t like pirates anymore? I mean, I wouldn’t change my mind on a PIRATE ROOM, but chances are a six year old boy might shift interests.
    As for the 16 year old you keep calling a “kid” -she’s a young adult. According to child services: 2-5 toddler, 5-13 child, 13-17 teen, 16-19 young adult. (teen and young adult overlap)

    Anyway, I WANT THAT ROOM!

    Who the fuck cares about here age. you are seriously acting like you’re 16. Because only a 16 year old would rip on someone for being younger then Him/her. Swallow your fucking big shit “I’m so big and grown up” attitude and go drive a car or drink your brains out.. Because thats what you cool grown ups do right ? sound’s so much cooler than having your whole life in front of you and having long summer vacations.. Rather that than to be a “grown up” and have nothing better to do than sit on the Internet and ripping on 16 year olds.

    I’m proud of being 16. And i could just say i hope i don’t grow up to be one of you non good 7/11 working non lifers.. U should bee really proud.

    As for the room, i think it’s really cool and a would love to have a room that artistic. But on the other hand i would like one with more functionality.

    and for last. Excuse me if this upset any one or if you feel sorry for me being a teenager but thats life, and I’m more than willing to accept that.

    leave the poor girl alone and focus on the awesomeness that is this room. I’m 20 years old and still want it, although I’d prefer a Star Wars theme… or maybe a dinosaur theme? How about zombies? I’m a 10-year-old boy trapped in a 20-year-old woman’s body.

    i know the people that live there, no one stays in that room, it was built for the original owners but then they sold it, the slide goes to an area in the basement not that room, that room is upstairs next to the master bedroom, and no this family was not on extreme makeover home edition it was built by the original owners brother…just thought i would try to clear a few things up

    August 3, 2011 at 5:08 PM

  121. I’d just prefer to be 6 again, coz no 6 year year old really needs a room like this when an old box is a potential spaceship, and unused washing baskets are impenetrable fortresses of doom. This kid will grow up lacking the imagination that his parents obviously have. Shame on you, overindulgent parents!

    o.o since when is age a freaking factor for argument? Thought we had labels for this already.. Great stuff! And for the record, 16 is a teenager, 18 is a young adult… 30 is an adult…over 40 should be a mature adult.

My site has a lot of unique coenntt I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any ways to help reduce coenntt from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.
