I guess hip hop beef has gone from shooting each other to creating a fake press statement for a rival making him come out of the closet as a “proud bisexual man.” OH NO HE DI’INT!
To give you a little more background information, Chris Brown received some bad press (imagine that?) for some homophobic remarks he made on Twitter about a dude named Raz-B. Raz B tweeted that Chris Brown has disrespected Rihanna, which started a back and forth tweet war between him and Chris. I feel ridiculous typing “tweet war,” but at least it’s not “gun war,” am I right?
The reason Chris Brown received bad press is because during the argument he made some homophobic remarks against Raz-B. Raz-B is a former member of the boy group B2K and he received press back in 2007 when he claimed he was raped by his former manager. The other members of the group claimed they knew nothing about it, and it seems like he might’ve made it up because no charges were ever brought against the manager. But still, not only did Chris Brown insult every gay person on the planet, but he also made fun of a supposed rape victim. Chris’ friend Omarian, who is also a former member of B2k, chimed in backing up Chris Brown and said some homophobic remarks as well. Chris Brown apologized, blah blah blah, the end. It didn’t get that much media coverage because I think the back story was a little too complicated.
Well, today, Omarian supposedly released a press release saying he’s a proud bisexual man.
“I pride myself in being an honest, God Fearing, respectful man. I have kept my personal life private and wanted to keep it that way. Unfortunately, other’s are interested in profiting from my anguish; so before they can do that, i will clarify things. I am not at all what certain ex-band members are trying to paint me as, I am however a respectable, mature, proud, bisexual man.” Source
This got linked on Fark, and I quickly found Omarian’s twitter, and sure enough there was a denial in there.
But still, it’s a pretty funny and effective way for getting back at someone for being a homophobic ass hole. Pretty funny. At least I think so. Better than shooting people and writing shitty rap songs that no one will ever hear.
